SENSE OF AUGUST BY MARINA PAVLUCENKOVA
My feeling this month is made up of colors, aromas, events, as well as meeting new, fantastic people.
What is the first component you think of when you start working on a new object?
The first thing I always think about when starting work on a new project is the people for whom this space will be created. What is their lifestyle, age, experience, habits and needs. The people and of course the architecture of the building will always be my starting point.
What other areas do you draw inspiration from?
I will repeat myself again, but I am inspired by talented people - conversations with them are highly charged.
In our field it’s a big plus that we have the opportunity to communicate with many young and very successful and unusual people with fantastic energy. I am also very inspired by theater, various forms of visual art and traveling.
What was the most valuable advice someone has given you?
The most valuable advice I received from my teacher is: "Everything you can draw in your imagination, you can also realize in life, and this applies not only to your profession!"
Which project was the most challenging? Why?
One of the biggest challenges and trials for me was the Villa Lido project in Jurmala.
First of all, it was in 2014 and I was not that experienced in my field yet, secondly, it was a very complex space, about 400 m2, with mansard ceiling, columns, and most importantly, it was a historical building built in 1930. The popular Lido restaurant used to be located there, and after its renovation in 2014, I was entrusted with creating apartments there.
