SENSE OF MAY BY EVIJA ĶIRSONE - SLAVINSKA
My feeling this month is the sudden arrival of summer, which is a feeling of new beginnings, new horizons. New projects, new unforgettable experiences. Every new project is a new beginning for adventure and creative flight, and every completed project is a new beginning for the client.
What makes a successful project?
When it comes to public spaces, design is part of a successful project, but its role should not be exaggerated. Because design is just a part of all the other components of the business. For a project to be successful, the architect, the designer, has to be able to think big, to get into the business idea of the project, to understand it and to prioritise the success of the project. Then the design will organically be subordinate to the business idea and complement it. In private space it is different. It has to be pleasant for the owner. If it is comfortable, ergonomic and harmonious in feel, then it has succeeded.
Interaction of interior design with other areas.
Interior design is very multifaceted and multifaceted. To design a good interior, it is necessary to refer to both the environment around it and the architect. Interior design is closely related to carpentry, construction, the world of light, furniture design, glass art and many other crafts. It is only through knowledge of these disciplines and their interaction that good design emerges.
The most loved stage of a project?
In general, I like all stages of a project, but my favourite is the so-called "dust" stage. When it is dismantled and built. When the builders are bustling, when you see the visualisation, which is a figment of your imagination, being realised on a large scale and becoming tangible. At this stage of construction, the tension is often palpable, the adrenaline rush of dealing with issues on site is palpable, and everything culminates in a beautiful, aesthetic end result that is like a thank you for the "sprint" that has been run.
