SENSE OF THE FEBRUARY BY KÓMARE STUDIOS

February 26, 2024

Our feeling for this month is one of anticipation, meetings and preparation for the building processes. In a word, an energetic work flow.

February seems very long and grey, but we are enjoying the sense of spring anticipation, our favourite season is approaching.

What is the first component you think about when you start working on a new project?

Lately we have decided to move away from specific furniture objects, shapes or textures. On the contrary, we try to perceive space as a volume and a feeling. The choice of which design era and its designers we will use in our interior design comes from the feeling.

The most loved stage of a project?

The most favourite moment is when, a few days before the project is handed over, a long-awaited scene is taking shape. It's a real pleasure.

What are the other areas you draw inspiration from?

We are interested in everything, music, cinema, photography, fashion and visual arts. We are happy to be surrounded by great people from these fields who are passionate about their work. So we are always in the context of what's going on, trying to keep up with the trends and the main events in these industries. We can't say that we interpret anything in particular in our projects, but it helps us to better understand society and the world around us. We are moving towards the studio being a community, perhaps with its own public space, where we bring together several creative disciplines.

What excites you at the moment, makes your eyes light up and how does it enrich your work?

At the moment we are working a lot on developing our own recognisable style, so we are trying out different materials, textures, shapes and methods of realisation with our eyes lit up. One thing we want to get to is that we will design all the furniture and lighting elements ourselves.
