SENSE OF DECEMBER BY VINETA MILLERE & ZANDA VJUNA

Our feeling this month is one of satisfaction at the end of the last year and elation at the beginning of the New Year, of looking into the new, the unknown, the predictably unpredictable. Despite the fact that the beginning of a new year is approaching, we are still in a little slumber of winter weariness. We just want to curl up in a warm blanket, in a cosy bedroom and wait for spring. Ready for new challenges.

What is the first thing you think about when you start working on a new project?

The main thing is the purpose of the interior. That's what we focus on. The first thing is definitely the feeling that you get when you interact with the client. The personality of the client, their vision of the world. An interior design project is a story. The project is influenced by the environment and the client's wishes. Every detail of the interior has to be justified. The interior moves as a story about a person, our task is to feel it and realise it in a tangible form. That's where our focus is, so that the interior serves the person, not the other way around.

Without what is an interior incomplete?

An interior is certainly not complete without the user, because at that point it becomes meaningless and loses the possibility to be complete. Interior + user. The purpose of an interior is to serve its user by creating all the sensations and conditions of ease of use and function.

What is a successful project?

Quite simply, when everyone is happy and satisfied with the result. And certainly one that you look back on years later and realise that it has not lost its relevance or quality.

The most loved stage of a project?

Definitely the initial phase, when the whole design process is ahead of you. The possibilities of ideas to realise. And definitely the final stage, when you see how everything has materialised, come to life. How the drawings have become tangible, felt and usable.
