The soft violet, fresh and sensual lilac color combined with the smell of wet dust and asphalt in Riga after a fresh spring rain. There is something very special about this scent - it unleashes some unconscious resources and desire to act in me.
What was the most valuable advice someone has given you?
I got the most valuable advice from my mom in the 4th grade when I was very nervous. She told me not to panic sooner than you know you should. 😊 And really, that time I had wasted my energy and worried about something that didn't happen at all. I remember this advice very often, because even today it helps me to remain calm in stressful situations and to approach situations more rationally.
What is the first component you think of when you start working on a new project?
My job is mostly to create environments or homes for very specific people. Therefore, the first thing I do is to meet and discuss the technical task with the customer in person, so that I can find the most suitable style and feeling that the customer wants to see as precisely as possible. I like people, I like that they are so different, and I am interested in giving them exactly the result that would best suit their personality.
What does a successful project mean for you?
For me, a successful project is a dynamic project in a professional team, where each team member is an experienced professional and performs his tasks responsibly and with high quality. The second important thing is communication with the customer - his ability to make prompt decisions, communicate his needs in an open manner. I have noticed that the greatest satisfaction is found in those projects that are not artificially dragged out, but move forward quickly and there is not a long time gap between the approved concept and the realization of the project. And, of course, it is a project where, if not everyone is involved, then at least me and my client are very satisfied with both the work process and the result.
